What All the things we need

  • Chole(White chickpeas) 1.5 cup
  • Oil (4 tablespoons)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste
  •  Onion (Chopped)
  • Tomato (Finely Chopped)
  • Green Chillies (Chopped)
  • Spices: turmeric powder, coriander leaves powder,  salt(to taste), Zeera powder , Maggie sachet(1),heeng
  • Coriander Leaves (Chopped)
  • For garnishing: Curd, fresh coriander

Steps to Prepare Chole

  1. Soak white chickpeas or chole in water overnight.
Pressure cook soaked white chickpeas with enough water, 1\2  tablespoons oil, and salt in a steel/aluminum pressure cooker over medium flame. After 4-5 whistles, turn off the flame and let the pressure come down naturally. Do not open the lid immediately to cook the chana or chole perfectly. Drain the excess water from boiled chickpeas in a large bowl. Keep the drained water to use later in the recipe. If a pressure cooker is not available, you can also use a deep pan to boil chickpeas but it would take more time to cook.
  2. Heat oil in a cooker, and cumin seeds and heeng (asafoetida) and let them sizzle
  3. Add chopped onion until golden brown.
  4. Add chopped green chili and ginger garlic paste.
  5. Add tomato puree and fry it until separation of oil. Now mix the spices ( turmeric powder, coriander leaves powder, salt(according to taste), Maggie sachet 1/2, Chole masala (1tbspoon), and jeera powder) and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add Chole or Chana and some water ( required consistency).
  7. Now cook on simmer for 15- 20 minutes.
  8. Garnish with curd and fresh Coriander(Use your artistic brain to make it look best).
  9. Your delicious Chole is ready now. serve with love ❤️
  10. Make the rice as well 🙂
